No Dental Insurance? Get These 2 Things For Healthy Teeth

Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, unemployment numbers skyrocketed in 2020. In September, 884,000 individuals filed for unemployment benefits, with 13.4 million unemployed in the week ended Aug. 29. While paying for food, rent and other utilities is the first concern, another concern is medical and dental insurance.

In addition to brushing and flossing, these are top natural ways to keep your teeth and gums healthy:

Apple cider vinegar. The acidity in apple cider vinegar can kill the bacteria in the mouth that causes tooth decay. For toothaches, mix 1/4 cup of acv 1 cup of water, swish around the mouth for 15-30 seconds then spit out. Repeat several times for relief.

For toothaches, soak a cotton ball in acv and press against the affected tooth or gums. It also kills the bacteria in the mouth that causes bad breath. Black seed oil. Black seed oil has anti-microbial properties, which means it kills micro-organisms or stops their growth. Black seed oil has been shown to relieve swollen gums and gingivitis. Its anti-inflammatory properties can kill bacteria and relieve pain in the gums. To treat sore or painful gums, apply a few drops to a q-tip and massage the affected the area for several minutes. In addition to black seed oil and apple cider vinegar, the following herbs are great for the teeth:

Turmeric. Turmeric can help decrease the swelling and pain in the gums. The turmeric can be made into a paste by mixing with water, and applying to the gums.

Cinnamon. A mixture of cinnamon and honey can be used to treat toothaches. Mixing one teaspoon of cinnamon with 5 teaspoons of honey and applying to the infects tooth may help relieve pain.

Ginger. Ginger has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, and has been used to treat toothaches and reduce swelling in the gums.

Oregano. Oregano and oregano oil has been used for centuries to reduce pain and swelling from toothaches and abscesses.

Nutmeg. Nutmeg is an antibacterial, and is often used in toothpaste. Nutmeg helps neutralize strains of bacteria that cause gum disease and dental cavities.

Baking soda. Baking soda is often used to treat toothaches. Wet a cotton ball and cover it with baking soda. Apply to the affected area, or rinse the mouth with baking soda and warm water.

This is just a few things we can do to help treat our teeth naturally. As a preventive measure, use these various herbs daily. Your body will thank you!
