The Importance of Financial Literacy: The History of Money

Financial literacy is more important then ever. Our schools don’t teach us anything about money or how it works.

They don’t teach us about purchasing power, reserve currency status, or how money changes every 100 years.

They don’t explain how what we view as money today could be worthless tomorrow.

We have an entire generation of people who only know the U.S. dollar as #1 form of money. What they don’t realize is it has NOT always been that way, and could lose its status at any time.

And if it loses that status, it will lose its value, which will make goods and services even MORE expensive.

As prices rise and we start to see shortages in various products, we MUST look at the history of money and see if anything like this has happened in the past and the best way to proceed going forward.
