We are told to take our vitamins daily, but how effective are they? We have become a pill popping society:
- “Take 2 pills every 4 hours.”
- “Take one pill while eating.”
- “Take two pills on an empty stomach.”
Supplements can play a role in maintaining good health. For example, vitamin D supplements can be beneficial for those who live in areas where getting vitamin D from the sun is difficult.
However, relying on a pill for good health or to cure our health issues is a mistake. Instead of relying on pills, we must go to the source, which is natural foods and products that come from the earth.
Taking vitamins and supplements should not be our first line of defense against illness. There are several reasons for this.
Pills are created based on man’s limited knowledge.
The human body is very complex. We don’t know everything about the body, so how can we know exactly what the body needs to maintain good health?
For example, many people are taking a pill for fiber, or a pill for cholesterol, vitamin C, or maybe a multivitamin. A person could be taking multiple pills, but why not just eat foods that contain those items like apples or bananas? Apples contain fiber, have a high-water content, and can bind to bad cholesterol.
Bananas are rich in potassium, can help ease constipation, and are good for eye health. How many pills would a person have to take to replicate these benefits? Then there are the things that apples can do for the body that man hasn’t discovered yet…
Pills can’t replicate every benefit found in the foods we eat.
Here’s a breakdown of some of my favorite spices and health foods:
Oregano. Oregano can be sprinkled on foods. Here are a few benefits of oregano:
- Help with heartburn and bloating
- headaches, earaches
- Skin conditions (dandruff)
- Sore throats
This is just a small sample of the benefits of oregano. How many medicines would a person have to take to get these benefits?
Black seed oil. Black seed oil has been used for centuries to treat a wide variety of ailments. Just one spoonful of black seed oil offers the following benefits:
- Boosts immunity
- Has anti-inflammatory properties
- Helps blood pressure
This is just a few of the benefits of black seed oil. I take one spoonful per night. I personally don’t know what it’s doing in my body, but my body knows, and is utilizing it in ways I will never know and may never be replicated in a pill.
Apple cider vinegar. Just 2 capfuls daily of apple cider vinegar is another great way to maintain good health. ACV has been used for the following:
- Improves digestion
- Regulates pH
- Reduces bad cholesterol
- Strengthen the immune system
- Insect bites/minor cuts
- Sinus infections
Like the others above, this is just a few uses of acv. is it possible there are uses that man isn’t aware of yet? How many pills would one have to take to match these benefits? Why not just go to the source and use those products instead of a magic pill?
The foods we eat can have multiple benefits that have not been discovered. However, our bodies know, and are eagerly waiting on us to give them the nourishment they need. Our bodies don’t want little pills, it wants food, herbs, spices and natural products. The key is to eat healthy foods on a regular basis.

Sickness is Big Business
Many of the best health tips are not discussed in the media or front-page news. Why? because sickness is big business. Billions of dollars are spent each year on medicines designed to relieve symptoms, not necessarily cure us. This means you must come back for more sooner than later. High blood pressure meds, insulin, antidepressants, pain relievers, sleeping pills and countless others are taken daily.
In other words, there are many legal drug addicts and legal drug dealers…
For a business to be successful, it needs repeat customers, and that includes the drug industry. It’s time to break that cycle!

Starting today, make an effort to eat healthier foods and spices on a daily basis. There are many benefits to supplements, but the majority of calories consumed should come from healthy, nutrient dense foods. Don’t wait until you’re sick to start taking better care of yourself. Start now and your body will thank you!
